Description from the seller
Here is a rare and fascinating vintage stereo camera with a unique design: the View-Master Stereo Color Camera, designed by the Swedish Stereo-Foto and produced in Germany by Regula-Werk King KG for Sawyer's Inc. between 1962 and 1965. Compared to the previous “Personal” version, this revolutionary model simplified 3D shooting by exposing the 35mm film transversely, allowing ready-to-use stereoscopic slides for discs without the need to cut the frames diagonally.
The lot is presented in good overall condition, with normal signs of use appropriate to its age, and it has been tested and is functioning, complete with its original protective case.
Optics: The camera mounts a pair of coupled Rodenstock Trinar 20mm f/2.8 lenses. The lenses appear in optimal condition, clean and transparent. No surface scratches, no mold or hazing.
Mechanical: Tested and perfectly functioning. The integrated mechanical shutter fires regularly at the various speeds, and the clever front-color metering calculation system works smoothly. The film advance and rewind mechanism also responds correctly to commands.
Aesthetics: Good general condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The camera body with chrome cap and black faux leather covering is well preserved, showing only slight and normal signs of time and handling localized mainly on the lower metal edge. The front mask with the exposure graphic symbols retains its vivid colors.
The included case is solid and shows a normal vintage patina from use.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured and professionally super-shielded packaging to ensure maximum safety during transport.
