Tazza (2) - Gilt bronze

1 pair of sumptuous, authentic French tazzen or marble stands from the Napoleons III period, circa 1840–1870. They are made of white marble and adorned with gilded decorations. The bowls are crafted from dark bronze with gilded edges in the shape of vine leaves and grapes. Originally they served the upper class as prestige pieces for serving confectionery, pastries, or the like, and are typical of French luxury bronzes of the 19th century. The piece is to be regarded as upper to very high quality.
