Oil on canvas landscape titled Paysage Symboliste by Marcel Prud'hon (1877-?) from 1930–1940 France, an original edition, 34 × 28 cm framed, weighing 3.0 kg, hand-signed, sold with frame and in good condition.
Description from the seller
- Oil on canvas. Original canvas. Hand-signed.
- In the French Symbolist landscape — in its ash-gray mists, in its pools of water that are dead, and in its twilights of a withered pink — there is the same secret languor that breathes in The Songs of Bilitis. Pierre Louÿs invented his Greek muse from the most refined artifice, but gave her uncertain light and the mossy scent of the sacred groves where Odilon Redon or Puvis de Chavannes would have placed their intangible figures.
- Dimensions of the unframed image: 18 x 24 cm / 28 x 34 cm with exclusive custom frame.
