Description from the seller

This exceptional dining table originally comes from the furnishings of an important and affluent residence of the Jewish community in Ferrara.
Lot description: Exclusive and monumental dining table or centerpiece of high artistic craftsmanship, dating from the mid-20th century.
This exceptional piece of furniture blends the rigor of Neoclassicism with the fluidity of Neo-Baroque and Art Deco, recalling the renowned school of French master blacksmiths.
A striking antique piece with extraordinary scenographic impact, ideal for a prestigious dining room, a reception salon, or a high-level professional studio.
Technical and construction details:
The Top: Beautiful rectangular slab carved from a single solid block of precious red Levanto marble. The stone is enriched with a natural dense texture of spectacular white and crystal-gray veins, fully mirror-polished.
The Base: Imposing supporting structure in solid forged iron, entirely hand-forged. The four curved legs develop into elegant volutes and end on the ground with solid inverted scroll feet.
A longitudinal wavy crosspiece unites the short sides, decorated at the center with symmetric curls.
Finish and Patina: The iron is entirely covered with a precious gold leaf gilding applied manually. The surface shows a finely stippled finish and a magnificent patina of time that enhances chiaroscuro details.
Monumental Measurements:
Length: 200 cm
Width: 100 cm
Height: 77 cm
Thickness of the marble slab: 5 cm (Excellent thickness, estimated weight of the marble alone about 270 kg).
Total estimated weight (marble + iron): 320 - 330 kg.
Condition: The item is in excellent vintage and structural condition. The iron base is extremely solid and stable. The gold leaf retains its original intact patina. The marble top is intact, with no cracks or deep chips. The marble can be separated from the structure to facilitate transport.
