Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Sonar AutoFocus folding instant camera from around 1978, in very good physical condition and tested and working, featuring the gold front sonar disc and automatic focus sonar system.
Description from the seller
Up for auction: a splendid and technologically advanced vintage instant reflex camera—the Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Sonar AutoFocus, introduced to the market in 1978. This iconic folding model represents the evolutionary pinnacle of the SX-70 series thanks to the addition of the revolutionary sonar autofocus system (recognizable by the distinctive gold disk on the front), which calculates distance by sending ultrasonic pulses.
Optics: The original fixed-focal lens is in optimal condition, clean and transparent. No surface scratches, mold, or hazing are present. The gold grille of the front sonar is perfectly intact and free of dents.
Mechanical and Electronics: The mechanical and electronic operation in dry testing responds correctly to commands. However, not having the specific cartridge with an integrated battery, the device has not been thoroughly tested with instant film to evaluate ejection and the sonar’s responsiveness.
Aesthetics: Very good overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The folding body retains its chrome shine, and the dark gray faux leather coverings are in excellent condition, free of tears or significant wear. The original box shows normal, widespread signs of storage and aging of the cardboard on the flaps and edges consistent with its age, but preserves graphics and vivid colors.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured and professionally ultra-protective packing to ensure maximum safety during transport.
