Description from the seller

Volkswagen Beetle 1303 LS Fuel Injection Karmann Cabriolet.
Import California - Stainless steel

General

A very rare Volkswagen Beetle Karmann Cabriolet is offered here – a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors. This cabriolet built by Karmann is one of the most sought-after variations of the iconic Beetle. It is an exceptionally beautiful example in very good condition; the car is drivable and ready for immediate use, making it valuable for both collectors and investors.

Exterior

The car has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, with the fenders repainted both inside and out, including the inner panels in the new color. The car is rust-free; only the rear floor panels under the battery have been professionally replaced. The soft top is somewhat older but functions well, the cover over the roof is also present. Beautiful original chrome wheels with caps and new tires with white walls.

Interior

The interior is fully original and in neat condition. The dashboard is also original, no cover. The condition of the interior underlines the authenticity and careful preservation of this classic. All original instruments are present. The front seats and rear seat are in neat condition.

Mechanical

The engine runs well and the gearbox shifts as it should. The old wiring loom has been fully overhauled and repaired.

Very much renewed, including, for example:

New tires.
New brake cylinders
New master brake cylinder.
New injectors.
New fuel tank sender.
New fuel pump.

Chassis

The chassis is original and in a particularly neat, solid condition, reflecting the overall quality of the vehicle.

Documentation

The car is supplied with full documentation and USA title and import documentation, including instruction booklet.
This VW does not require a COC document (registered in 1996) for registration within Europe given the age of the car.

PICK-UP:

This car is viewable and can be picked up in Damwoude, the Netherlands.

OTHER INFORMATION:

A rare opportunity to own a real time capsule — an unrestored, original and in exceptional condition, technically fully updated and ready for many years of driving pleasure.

Since this car, after waking from a year-long storage in California, has received good maintenance, there may still be something that comes to light requiring attention.

We try to describe the cars as honestly and correctly as possible, but they are used vehicles. There may therefore always be something that needs attention or shows signs of use.

We therefore ask you, if in doubt, to come and view the car.
We can help you with transport across Europe.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
