Ford Thunderbird - NO RESERVE, a 2002 model in black with a 3.9 L V8 (252 hp) automatic petrol engine, Dutch registration, 118,049 miles, matching numbers and colours, MOT valid to 2027-05-15, and a well-kept chassis and body with some interior and paint wear, plus a fully functional electric soft top.
Description from the seller
Bodywork & Paint
This rare 2002 Ford Thunderbird Cabriolet is, in terms of base condition, in very healthy shape. The chassis, the rails, and the sills are solid, dry, and completely free of rust, welding, or damage. Because the underside is free of tectyl, the neat condition of the sheet metal is easy to inspect. The electrically operated soft top closes nicely and is 100% watertight (there is no hardtop). The paintwork needs cosmetic attention in the form of scratches, but is rust-free.
Mechanical & Technical State
Under the hood sits a 3.9-liter V8, which runs quietly and is paired with a butter-soft-shifting 5-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive Thunderbird shares its platform with the Jaguar S-Type and Lincoln LS. Recently a new battery and a new starter motor have been installed, and the air conditioning has been checked and is ice-cold charged. The undercarriage shows no worn sleeves or rubbers; the front suspension is dry and sometimes creaks slightly (needs to be lubricated). The car sits on four very good tires (two of which are new); the spare wheel’s tire needs replacement.
Interior & Electronics
The interior has suffered from California sun, resulting in drying cracks in both seat cushions and light cracks in the dashboard and some plastic parts. No shortage of comfort thanks to power-adjustable seats and steering wheel, automatic lighting with a 'follow me home' function, and a well-functioning radio. The CD changer and the cruise control currently do not work.
Documentation & Other Information
The car is drivable and ready to use (“start and enjoy”), but also offers a nice basis to progressively perfect cosmetic details.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
