Anglepoise Model 90 desk lamp in brown steel, designed by Terry Herbert in the United Kingdom, dating from around 1970–1980, with a height adjustable to about 83–90 cm and a base diameter of 18 cm, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
In good condition and with minimal signs of wear, the Anglepoise Model 90 is a classic desk lamp produced between 1973 and 1985. Born as the successor to Model 75, it introduced technical innovations to conform to the era's new British safety standards, including a reinforced insulation system that eliminated the need for a ground wire. The Model 90 design simplified the engineering of previous models to make it more suitable for mass production and home use.
Base: Round with a compact footprint and a steel cover, weighted by an internal cast-iron counterweight.
Arms and Joints: Made with flat steel strips rather than tubular. The fork is a single strip of bent steel, fastened with an exposed nut and bolt. Springs in good condition.
Shade: Cone-shaped, grooved shade, featuring a push-button switch on the top.
Materials: Uses nylon components in the joints and at the center of the upper joint to facilitate movement.
Dimensions: Has a maximum adjustable height of about 83–90 cm and a base diameter of 18 cm.
