Viking / Norse culture "magic" pendant of the type purportedly used by healers, comprising a translucent natural quartz crystal mounted in a silver setting. From ancient to medieval times, rock crystals and other semi-precious stones were believed to possess talismanic healing and good luck properties.
Size: 3.9 cm L (including loop) - 1 1/2 inch;
Pendant only= 2.9 cm L - 1 1/8 inch
Material: Silver and crystal, 12.6 grms
Culture: Viking, c. 8th-10th Century A.D.
Condition: Intact
Provenance: Eastern European private collection, acquired in the 1990s.
