Philips HF 453 A 01 vintage radio‑phonograph in its original wooden cabinet, manufactured in 1955, physical condition good and functional condition tested and working, including three discs and one extra element (total four objects); turntable tested and functioning, radio reception not tested.
Description from the seller
An antique **Philips HF 453 A 01 radiogramophone**, presented in its original wooden cabinet, with a fold-down top cover.
The unit is in good overall condition for its age and retains its period aesthetic, its front panel, control knobs, radio dial, speaker, and its Philips turntable.
### Turntable section
The turntable part has been tested with several records and functions correctly.
The platter spins normally, the records are played and the music is reproduced with a clear and pleasant sound. The volume control also works: the sound can be lowered or raised to a powerful volume depending on the desired setting.
The selector allows adjusting the rotation speed to the record used, with speeds **33⅓, 45 and 78 revolutions per minute**.
The controls for switching the turntable on and off also function.
The device retains its **removable adapter for records with a large central hole**, visible in the photographs.
### Radio section
The device also has a radio function separate from the turntable.
When the radio function is selected, the device produces sound and crackling/static, but **I was not able to receive or tune in a station**.
Radio reception could not therefore be properly verified. This section is therefore indicated as **not tested regarding station reception**, without being able to determine whether a setting, an appropriate antenna, or a service is required.
### Discs included
The set is sold with **three records** visible in the photographs.
All three have been tried on the turntable and play correctly. **Two have their sleeves and one is without a sleeve.**
### Condition
The wooden cabinet presents a nice overall appearance and the top lid **opens and closes correctly**.
To be transparent: **a small chip/ding is present on the upper-right corner of the lid**, clearly visible in the photographs. It does not prevent the lid from opening or closing.
Wear and aging marks may naturally be present given the age of the unit. The photographs show its condition precisely and are an integral part of the description.
Information visible on the back of the unit:
**Philips – Type HF 453 A 01**
**110 / 220 V – 42 W – 50 Hz**
A beautiful vintage Philips set preserving its original character, with a **tested and functional turntable section**, accompanied by three records.
