Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Design furniture piece by Pierre Balmain, in birch wood with brass fittings, French origin, dating to 1980–1990, in excellent condition with light signs of wear due to age, dimensions 233 cm wide by 77 cm high by 45 cm deep, weight 80 g.
Description from the seller
Extraordinary and rare example of furniture curated by one of the undisputed masters of world Haute Couture: Pierre Balmain (1914 – 1982).
Founder in 1945 of the legendary Parisian house, Balmain was among the protagonists of fashion and costume in the second half of the 20th century.
Between the 1960s and 1980s, parallel to other great names of French fashion such as Christian Dior and Pierre Cardin, Balmain explored the world of interior design. Unlike his colleagues, however, he did not produce mass production lines, but signed very few pieces of excellence focusing on the absolute sartorial quality of the materials and finishes. This extremely limited production makes his furnishings rare, difficult to find on the antique market, and highly sought after by international collectors.
Original logo of the Pierre Balmain house clearly visible on the side of the piece of furniture.
Birch wood with refined geometric inlays and brass knobs.
The piece is in excellent original condition, both outside and inside the compartments, with every detail superbly preserved.
The item is located at our warehouse in Rome, Italy where it will be possible to pick it up in person.
Given the high weight and size, shipping via standard couriers is not possible as it is oversized.
Delivery costs will be calculated based on the destination.
The photos should be considered an integral part of the description
