We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Yashica Electro 35 CCN of the early 1970s is the wide-angle member of the Electro 35 family, the rangefinder series famous for its electronically controlled stepless shutter that earned the nickname 'the poor man's Leica'. Unusually for the class, the CCN carries a genuinely wide and fast Color-Yashinon DX 35mm f/1.8 lens — a specification almost no other fixed-lens rangefinder offered — making it a favourite for available-light and street photography. Its aperture-priority automation holds the shutter open as long as the scene requires, and the compact black body with the WIDE badge is among the most collectable of the Electro line.

The rangefinder double-image is clear and aligned.
Measured exposure is accurate: about -0.3 EV at EV12 and +0.1 EV at EV15.

We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.3 UNDER / EV15: 0.1 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Known Issues
1. The battery-check lamp does not light. The shutter and auto exposure themselves work correctly with a battery fitted.
