Description
Very attractive certified silver rouble of Empress Catherine II the Great, dated 1767 and graded NGC AU50.
A highly collectible Imperial Russian silver 1 Rouble of 1767, struck at the Saint Petersburg Mint during the reign of Catherine II the Great (1762–1796).
The coin has been professionally authenticated, encapsulated and graded by NGC as AU50, giving the buyer the security of a recognized international certification.
NGC Certification No. 3929468-001
The obverse features the impressive crowned portrait of Empress Catherine II, while the reverse shows the large crowned Imperial Russian double-headed eagle.
This type was struck in silver of approximately .750 fineness, with a standard weight around 24 g and diameter of about 39 mm.
The 1767 rouble is a classic large silver issue of Catherine the Great and is especially desirable in certified higher circulated grades. An NGC AU50 example of the same 1767 СПБ-АШ type recently appeared at auction and reached 481 €, confirming strong collector interest in this issue.
