Description from the seller

Victorian carved mahogany dining table, with two pedestals, 1890–1910. Elegant extendable dining room table, of European workmanship, probably English, executed in mahogany, in the late Victorian taste and Chippendale Revival, dated to the late 19th or early 20th century. It features a large oval top, with a carved frame and a removable extension leaf. The waist is richly decorated with carved friezes of vegetal and pearled motifs. It rests on two sturdy baluster-turned pedestals, ornamented with acanthus leaves, ending in quadripartite bases with curved legs and carved feet. The pedestals are joined by a central turned crosspiece, lending stability and grandeur to the set. A striking piece, suitable for eight to ten places, combining the decorative richness of historicism with the practicality of an extendable table.

Material: carved mahogany.
Dimensions: 220 x 100 x 80 cm with extension leaf.
