Description from the seller

Set of 4 Peking rugs – 100% handmade – 1950s-1960s

We present a beautiful and somewhat unusual set of four Peking Chinese rugs, made approximately between 1950 and 1960.

They are 100% handmade, crafted in pure wool on a cotton backing, with the characteristic Peking floral and ornamental motif in elegant cream, terracotta and blue-gray tones.

The set consists of:

* 1 large rug: 158 × 90 cm
* 2 identical rugs: 132 × 60 cm each
* 1 small rug: 97 × 60 cm

Because of their different sizes, they form a very decorative and versatile ensemble, ideal as bedroom rugs at the sides and foot of the bed, in front of a fireplace, in an entryway, or distributed in different areas of the same room.

For their approximately 65–75 years of age, they are in very good overall condition. They do not show significant tears or substantial wear to the pile. Only some wear and a few fringes cut or shorter, normal given their age and clearly visible in the photographs.

Only a light professional cleaning is recommended to remove dust accumulated during storage and refresh the rugs.

A beautiful and hard-to-find original set of four Peking-era rugs, kept together for decades and especially attractive for classic or vintage decor.
