Wall plate with mottled flow glaze by artist-potter C.J. Lanooy, featuring a mushroom decoration. Production year 1925.

In excellent condition. Diameter 35 cm and height 5 cm. Well signed.

Christiaan Johannes Lanooy (also written Lanooij) was born in 1881 in Sint Annaland (NL). In 1896 he came to work as an apprentice painter at Rozenburg in The Hague, where he left again in 1897. Subsequently he worked for Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland and Haga. In 1908 he started his own studio, first in Gouda and from 1920 in Epe.

This dish is also on display at the Keramiekmuseum Princessehof in Leeuwarden.
