Paolo Costa - Sophia Loren

This is an interesting vintage photograph of good size, 36.5 cm by 26.5 cm (approximately 14.3 by 10.4 inches) of the beautiful and famous Italian actress Sophia Loren, depicted, presumably in 1965, by the well-known Ravenna photographer Paolo Costa. Paolo Costa was among the great Italian photographers of the Dolce Vita, one of the most renowned portraitists, in high demand by actors and actresses even off set, and also for photos taken during the filming of various movies. Born in 1917, he was regarded as one of the greatest European photographers in the field, and today the Paolo Costa Archive is managed by his daughter Alexandra. This is a genuine vintage photograph, duly stamped by Paolo Costa on the back, with his old stamp, and also by a notable Italian magazine of the era that published the photograph in the March 1966 issue. Good overall condition, very slight defects absolutely not important and a 25mm tear on the left edge, easily reparable by a restorer; a rare vintage photograph by a rare photographer...
