I am selling my Longines Avigation BigEye, reference L2.816.4.53.2, purchased new in December 2020.

A particularly interesting opportunity for those looking for one of the most charismatic models in Longines' Heritage collection, in a condition that's very hard to find.

The Avigation BigEye is a reinterpretation of a historic pilot’s chronograph from Longines and quickly became one of the brand’s most recognized Heritage models. Its design even earned the “Revival Watch Prize” at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2017.

This specimen is very, very well cared for, having always been used with great care.

An especially relevant detail: the original Longines bracelet has never been worn, so it is effectively new.

The BigEye manages to combine the presence of a true aviation chronograph with very balanced proportions on the wrist:

Lug-to-lug: approximately 48.7 mm
Width between lugs: 20 mm

Despite the 41 mm size, the case and lugs’ proportions make it sit very well on the wrist, maintaining the strong visual presence typical of a pilot chronograph without becoming overly large.

The large 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock — the “Big Eye” that gives the watch its name — together with the prominent chronograph pushers, the extremely legible dial, and the vintage-profile crystal give it a very distinctive identity.

In my opinion, it is one of Longines’ best-executed Heritage models: historical without feeling antiquated, sufficiently sporty for daily wear, and with a particularly interesting column-wheel automatic chronograph movement in this range.

This is a Full Set example, very well preserved and with the original bracelet in completely new condition — an excellent opportunity to acquire a BigEye in a configuration and condition that are hard to find.
