Description from the seller
Antique copper jug – PEKTORLU BURSA – Turkey, 1st half of the 20th century – 24 cm
Item description / Lot Description
PL:
The item up for auction is an authentic, artisanal jug (ibrik / güğüm) made of hammered copper, with brass and tin-plated finishing elements. On the bottom of the vessel there is a clear, oval workshop signature with the inscription “PEKTORLU BURSA,” indicating the item’s origin from the Turkish city Bursa, renowned for its copper-engraving traditions.
The jug features a classic Anatolian form: a wide, stable body transitioning into a slender neck, traditionally shaped spout, and a solid brass handle mounted with rivets. The lid is fitted on a functional brass hinge. A wonderful collectible item, ideal for interiors in vintage, rustic, or oriental style.
