Käthe Kruse model I antique cloth doll, made of composito, about 60 cm tall, in good condition and without original packaging, signed in red ink and numbered 0781 on the left foot and dating to the early 20th century.
Description from the seller
Title: Very Rare Antique Käthe Kruse Doll (Model I) – Signed and Numbered (0781)
I am offering at auction a rarissimo and authentic specimen of an antique Käthe Kruse doll, dating to the early decades of the 20th century (likely Model I).
The item is of great collectible interest as it preserves the original factory marks that certify its authenticity and age:
On the sole of the left foot there is a red ink signature reading "Käthe Kruse".
Just below the signature, the serial number 0781 (or 0784) is clearly stamped.
The foot features the classic fingers separated by stitching, a structural detail typical and highly sought-after of Kruse's very earliest productions.
Condition:
The doll presents in its original found condition, with no amateur or modern restoration work.
The cloth body is solid, intact, and well preserved given its age.
The face, painted on pressed cloth, shows evident signs of age: there are natural pigment losses and localized cracks mainly on the forehead, the tip of the nose, and the left cheek. The expression and the eye details remain very vivid nonetheless.
It is supplied with period clothing (floral cotton dress).
A piece of great historical significance for collectors of the brand, offered without reserve. Please carefully observe the attached photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
