Lip Chronograph with a 41 mm stainless steel case and quartz movement, white dial with hobnail guilloché centre and applied Arabic numerals, brown leather strap, in very good condition with minor wear, includes original Lip presentation box but no papers or warranty, shipped insured.
Description from the seller
Lip Chronographe in stainless steel, 41mm, from the modern Besançon-made re-edition series. Silvered dial with hobnail guilloché centre, applied polished Arabic numerals and a 24-hour outer scale, caseback marked FOND EN ACIER INOXYDABLE - ETANCHE 3 ATM.
Lip is one of the very few French houses with a continuous watchmaking identity, rooted in Besançon since the nineteenth century and known through the twentieth for supplying presidents and heads of state, for Roger Tallon's Mach 2000 in the 1970s, and for the 1973 factory occupation that put the name into French social history. This Chronographe belongs to the modern generation that reworks the brand's mid-century chronograph vocabulary — three registers, a full Arabic numeral set, and a textured centre panel — in a 41mm steel case sized for current wear rather than period proportions.
- Movement: Quartz chronograph, caliber not visible (solid caseback)
- Case: Stainless steel, 41mm excluding crown, polished finish
- Dial: Silvered, hobnail guilloché centre, applied polished Arabic numerals, 24-hour outer scale
- Registers: 60-minute counter, running small seconds, 24-hour indication
- Crystal: Mineral, clean
- Strap: Brown crocodile-embossed leather with steel pin buckle
- Functions: Hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph, 24-hour indication
- Water resistance: 3 ATM as marked on the caseback, seals untested
- Year: ca. 2000s
The watch runs and all functions were confirmed working. The dial is clean throughout with no spotting and sharp printing. The case carries fine scratches across the polished flanks and small nicks on the lug tips; the caseback shows swirl marks and light scratches from wear. The crystal is clear. The leather strap shows cracking around the buckle holes and staining on the lining, and would be an easy replacement. Supplied in its original Lip presentation box, which most examples on the secondary market no longer have.
From a private collection. Original Lip box included, no papers. Service status unknown.
Shipped fully insured, tracked, and signature-required worldwide.
