Description from the seller
Up for auction is an absolute icon in the history of photography and the pillar of the Swedish medium-format system: the Hasselblad 500 C/M body. This single-lens reflex camera adopts the legendary 6×6 cm square format on 120 film and is entirely mechanical, modular, and built to the highest standards of Swedish engineering. Famous for being the model that accompanied NASA missions into space, the C/M version introduced the crucial capability for the photographer to replace the focusing screen on their own in seconds.
The lot is presented in very good condition, carefully preserved, functional, and complete with its interchangeable film back, strap, and the original front lens cap to protect the mirror box.
Mechanical and Electrical: Tested and perfectly functioning. The fully manual mechanicals respond impeccably: the film back mounting system is smooth, the mirror lifts normally, the rear shutters open and close correctly at the moment of the shot, and the film back coupling mechanism advances without hesitation.
Aesthetics: Overall very good condition as clearly documented by the photographs. The black finish and original external chrome plating are beautifully preserved and retain their original brilliance. The black leatherette covering is intact, tight, and free of tears, showing only minimal and imperceptible signs of use typical for an antique item.
Included accessories: Hasselblad interchangeable back (complete with back plate/cover), original fold-down waist-level viewfinder, original front-body protection cap, carrying strap.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured, and professionally over-protective packaging to ensure maximum safety during transport.
