Yulanda Ferrer - DEFYING GRAVITY - NO reserve

DEFYING GRAVITY is a contemporary semi-abstract landscape built around a sense of ascent, balance and persistence. A monumental cliff rises through a vast, quiet sky, crowned by a tiny solitary house. Across the steep slopes, small mountain goats climb almost impossibly high along the rock face. Their presence reinforces the title of the work: they appear completely at ease in a place that seems inaccessible, bringing a subtle sense of movement and resilience to the composition. The painting combines broad areas of cream, sand, ochre and warm grey with deeper charcoal accents. Visible brushwork and layered textures give the rock formations a tactile quality, while the small golden sun creates a simple but powerful point of balance within the open space. The work is by Yulanda Ferrer, an artist based in Spain whose practice combines academic training with a contemporary, increasingly reduced visual language. Trained in the tradition of academic realism in Saint Petersburg, she now explores the border between recognisable imagery and abstraction, often using landscape, still life and isolated elements to create quiet, slightly surreal and contemplative scenes. Her works are held in private collections in several European countries and beyond. In 2026, Ferrer took part in the group exhibition “Confluencias. Contemplating Wine” at Bodega Rafa Cañizares in Salinas, Alicante, running from June to September. Her work is also being shown in a new exhibition at Tumbao, Alicante, from September to October 2026. Details: Original one-of-a-kind artwork Oil on canvas 2026 81 × 65 cm Signed Excellent condition Certificate of authenticity included Sold directly by the artist Shipped rolled in a protective tube for safe international transport.
