Philips - N4414 Reel to reel deck 18 cm

I propose this gem for collectors: the Philips N4414 reel-to-reel tape recorder, 4-track, manufactured from 1972 to 1975. Launched by Philips while cassette tape recorders were taking over the audio market, the Philips N4414 is the classic consumer recorder of the 1970s, with 3 motors, push-button control, transistors and stereo audio; it was Philips’ base offering in this segment and had only two heads (erase and record/playback). In those years it was sold under the 798 German brands. On the lower front right there is a gray sliding door that hides two DIN inputs for two microphone types. The Philips N4414 can operate both vertically and horizontally.
Speakers are built into the recorder’s cabinet. The carrying handle is very practical. On the back, inside the door, you’ll find the power cord and the DIN inputs for:

Phono: for a turntable.
Tape Out: Combined input/output for a recorder.
Remote control (not supplied)
Loudsp L Loudsp R for external, separate 4/8 Ohm loudspeakers. As soon as external speakers are connected, the built-in ones are deactivated.

The unit in the auction is perfectly functional in all parts. All belts have been replaced and the internal amplification circuit and input circuit have been checked. The offer includes the original manual in six languages and two plastic reels marked Philips with used pre-recorded tape to test the device. I advise against long-term use of the supplied tape because it is very used; as many know, the heads accumulate dirt easily, and the heads of this device have been thoroughly cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. The smoked cover, despite its age, is practically perfect as you can see in the photos. The inscription on the REW button is faded, as seen in the photos; the back shows some signs of wear. The counter works perfectly. The Philips N4414 will be carefully packed and shipped insured. Please examine all the photos to avoid misunderstandings.
