Russia – Nicholas II – 1 Rouble 1897 АГ – NGC AU53
A very attractive certified silver rouble of Emperor Nicholas II, struck in 1897 and professionally graded by NGC as AU53.
Despite the numerical grade, this example presents particularly well visually, with a strong overall appearance and very clearly preserved design details.
The portrait of Nicholas II remains sharp and expressive, while the reverse shows an especially attractive and detailed Imperial double-headed eagle. The smaller heraldic shields on the eagle’s wings are also clearly visible, which gives the coin a much stronger appearance than many normally encountered circulated examples of this type.
The surfaces appear clean and bright, with noticeable traces of original mint lustre still visible under the light.
