Description from the seller
PeDe wall-mounted coffee grinder – Peter Dienes, the Netherlands, mid-20th century
Fascinating manual wall-mounted coffee grinder produced by PeDe, a historic brand linked to Peter Dienes and known for the quality of its grinding mechanisms.
This distinctive specimen, presumably made in the Netherlands around the mid-20th century, features a cream-colored enameled metal body, decorated with the red inscription “KOFFIE” and completed by a coordinating top lid.
The grinder is mounted on its original wooden backboard, equipped with four holes for wall mounting. Grinding is operated via a sturdy metal crank with a wooden contoured handle.
The mechanism is in working order.
The removable container for collected ground coffee is made of pressed glass. It is complete and intact in its structure, but shows a clearly visible crack in the photographs.
Materials:
* enameled metal;
* wood;
* steel and cast iron;
* pressed glass.
Indicative dimensions:
* height: about 34 cm;
* width: about 13 cm;
* overall depth: about 17–18 cm.
The item presents authentic vintage conditions, with scratches, small enamel loss, traces of oxidation, marks on the wooden part and normal wear compatible with age and use. The inner cavity shows residues and signs of time; therefore a thorough cleaning before any potential food use is recommended.
The photographs detail the condition and are an integral part of the description.
A fascinating object of European domestic tradition, still functioning and ideal both for a collection devoted to antique kitchen utensils and as an original vintage decorative accessory.
Careful packing and trackable shipping.
