Circular Silver Reliquary Case of St. Ciro
Saint Ciro was born in Alexandria, Egypt in the 3rd century and is venerated as a physician, hermit and martyr. He lived in the 3rd century in Alexandria, Egypt, and cared for the sick free of charge. He welcomed the poor and united the care of the body with the Christian faith, suffering martyrdom during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. In addition to being the general patron of those who suffer in body and spirit, he is invoked specifically against:

Particular illnesses and pains: headaches, eye problems (ophthalmia), ear infections (otitis), stomach and chest pains, ulcers and paralysis.
