Description from the seller

Rare Omega Automatic Chronometer – 14K Gold – Ref. G6518 – Cal. 351 Bumper

A rare and highly attractive vintage Omega Automatic Chronometre, dating from approximately 1950–1951, housed in a solid 14K gold Wadsworth case made for the American market.

This is the desirable reference G6518, a scarce early post-war Omega produced for the U.S. market. These watches are particularly appreciated by collectors for their distinctive American-made solid gold cases and early Omega automatic bumper movements. The inside caseback is clearly marked G6518, W286081 and 14K GOLD.

The watch is powered by the impressive Omega calibre 351 automatic bumper movement, movement number 12,475,575. This chronometer-grade movement has 17 jewels and is specifically marked “Adjusted Five (5) Positions and Temperatures”, reflecting the higher level of regulation required for Omega’s chronometer watches of the period.
The professionally restored silver/champagne dial is beautifully presented, with applied gold-tone Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12, elegant faceted hour markers and the distinctive multi-line “Omega Automatic Chronometre Officially Certified” signature. The crosshair-style dial design gives the watch a particularly sophisticated and unmistakably 1950s character.

The solid 14K gold case remains in very good condition, retaining attractive proportions and elegant sculpted lugs. It is paired with a brown leather strap and gold-tone Omega-style buckle.
