Drinking set (5) - Murano glass - 3D polychromes and murrine

This set of five artistic Murano glass votive glasses is a particularly sought-after composition, handmade in Murano according to the techniques of the Venetian glassmaking tradition, reinterpreted through a contemporary and strongly decorative design.

Each glass presents its own color combination and is characterized by submerging colored glass granules and murrine into the mass, creating a surface that is visually rich, luminous, and never perfectly uniform. The granules, embedded in the glass during fabrication, generate shading, color variations, and a distinctive sense of depth.

The most distinctive feature of the collection consists of glass cords applied by hand, individually, by the master glassmaker on the exterior surface of each glass. These applications serve not only a decorative function: their slightly raised shape gives the glass a pronounced three-dimensional quality, making it particularly interesting to the touch.

The cords themselves display complex colorations obtained through the use of colored glass granules, which create within the applications shading, veining, and chromatic variations visible through the transparency.

The set includes five different color interpretations: deep blue with amber-toned accents, light blue with turquoise details, green with lime-yellow accents, white with red elements, and pink with yellow accents. Several glasses also feature decorative murrine, inserted as small graphical accents within the composition.

The slight differences in shape, arrangement of the applications, and distribution of granules are natural characteristics of manual artisanal workmanship and make each glass distinct from the others.

This is not merely a coordinated set of glasses, but a true collection of artistic glass objects, designed to be used and at the same time appreciated as decorative elements. The irregular surface of the applications, the texture of the glass, and the weight of the item also make each piece particularly pleasant to hold.

Each piece is handcrafted; any tiny irregularities, color variations, or minor dimensional differences are inherent to manual glassworking and form part of the uniqueness of the work.
