Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful, and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and then worked for a long time from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for powerful colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vivid color use, dynamic forms and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance and dream imagery play a major role. She frequently used mixed media, including acrylic, oil paint, and pencil, giving her works a rich, textured appearance that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 100 x 140 cm
The work is viewable in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay also has an in-house framer (this year celebrating their 85th anniversary) and a restoration workshop. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
