Olav Vorsel (1922–2007) was a Dutch artist who only at the age of 47 chose to pursue the artist’s career, driven by a strong inner need to express his worldview in images. His work, influenced by a troubled youth and intense life questions, consists of expressive paintings with impasto layers in which both social and psychological themes resonate.
Vorsel began his career in the books world, where he worked, among other things, as director of the Van Ditmar publishing house.
