Art Deco ceramic vase by Boch Frères Keramis, La Louvière, Belgium, 24 cm high, decor D.2168, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Expressive Art Deco vase from the Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière. The bulbous, tapering body toward the top is defined by a strictly rhythmic decoration in warm ochre, honey yellow, and deep brown tones.
Particularly characteristic is the surrounding stylized floral or fan motif. Geometric lines, dots, spirals, and horizontal bands structure the surface and give the vase the Art Deco hallmark—a combination of floral abstraction and clear ornament.
On the underside there is the manufacturer stamp Boch Frères Keramis – Made in Belgium as well as the handwritten designation D.2168. This can be classified as the decoration number. A secure attribution of this decor to a specific designer has not yet been established and is therefore intentionally not made.
An decorative example of Belgian ceramic art from the Art Deco era, whose restrained color palette and strong graphic design suit the closed vessel form particularly well.
