Copper 1 kopek coin minted at the Saint Petersburg Mint during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II. The reverse shows the denomination inside an open crown formed by laurel and oak branches, joined at the bottom by a ribbon, while the obverse features the majestic crowned double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire, with scepter and orb, surrounded by the imperial legend. The design, with a heraldic character, reflects the solemnity of Tsarist Russia’s emissions in the final years before World War I and the fall of the Romanov dynasty. This specimen preserves an attractive uniform brown patina (Brown), with original luster partially visible, crisp reliefs and clean fields, presenting only extremely light contact marks in keeping with the excellent MS64 BN grade awarded by NGC.
