Mercedes Prima mechanical portable typewriter, produced in Thüringen, Germany, circa 1930–1940, in excellent condition and in working order, with verification marks, black cast-iron body, dimensions 325 × 125 × 270 mm, weight about 5 kg.

Description
The Mercedes-Bureau-Maschinen G.m.b.H was founded in 1906 in Berlin. In 1908 the company moved to Mehlis/Thuringia. After 1930, small typewriters were also part of the program. This includes the Mercedes Prima from 1937/38.
The high-gloss, black finish with gold lettering “Mercedes Prima” and the company logo gives the machine a certain sense of quality. The machine does not yet have an automatic ribbon switch. With the help of a small wheel on the right side, the black ribbon is wound back.
Technically, it was a type-bar machine with front action and Wagner drive. The model is equipped with a 4-row QWERTY keyboard, a line feed, and a backspace key.
