Unique opportunity to buy an exceptionally beautiful Rittreck 6×6. I am thinning out my personal collection and this is one of the units that must go with a heavy heart. The Rittreck 6×6 is a remarkable piece of Japanese camera history: the model was produced for only a short time by Musashino Kōki in the late 1960s, before the entire system was taken over by Norita. Consequently there are not many examples left today, and certainly not in this condition.
What really sets this camera apart is that the viewfinder is completely intact. In most Rittreck and Norita cameras you now see desilvering in the finder, causing the image to be blurry or speckled, but this one does not have any of that. The finder is clear.
The Norita viewfinder that comes with it is also something collectors often search for in itself, because on many devices it is missing or damaged.
The camera itself feels and operates like a large 35mm SLR, but with the image quality of 6×6 medium format. Everything runs smoothly, the shutter works nicely and I have used it every few months for personal projects. The best part, without a doubt, remains the 80mm f/2 Rittron lens. For a medium format lens, f/2 is extremely bright, and you can see that in the photos: soft, pleasant bokeh and surprising sharpness when used wide open. Ideal for portraits or creative images with a characterful look.
