Pocket field telescope for officers in brass with leather carrying case - Late 19th / Early 20th century
Fascinating pocket military telescope with a single-Draw, dating to the end of the 19th century or the early 1900s. This compact model (Galilean system) was the typical equipment privately purchased by officers for rapid field reconnaissance.
Brass body with a darkened, knurled objective ring.
Extremely compact, 7x4 cm when closed and 10 cm fully extended. It provides excellent brightness thanks to the large diameter.
Original glass lenses present. The image appears straight. Inside you can see the patina of time, consistent with its age.
Includes its very rare original suede leather case, entirely handmade and stitched with a cotton drawstring closure.
Overall excellent condition for its age, with a magnificent original brass patina and normal wear on the case that testify to its historical authenticity. No marks or inscriptions visible, typical of field productions of the era.
