Description from the seller

Elegant WMF wine bottle support in silvered metal, with a sober and functional aesthetic characteristic of mid-20th-century German design. In light of its construction and especially its metal handle clad in black synthetic material, the object can be placed in the 1950s-1960s.

The support adopts a particularly minimalist construction: two long parallel metal rods form a cradle designed to receive the bottle horizontally, while their raised ends ensure its retention. At one end, the structure extends into a handle forming a wide loop, allowing easy transport of the bottle. This grip is covered with a black spiral-relief sheath, providing both visual contrast and ease of handling. The overall effect combines the shine of silvered metal with a dark synthetic material, in a decidedly utilitarian and modern language.

The whole is in good condition. The silvering remains clearly present and retains a bright appearance, with some discreet signs related to age and use. The wrapped handle is preserved and shows normal signs of use for an object of this era. The structure remains stable and perfectly functional, with no significant deformation or apparent restoration.

Founded in Geislingen in 1853 and becoming Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik in 1880, WMF progressively established itself as one of the major German manufacturers of tableware and metal household items. After World War II, the company deeply renewed its catalog: the 1950s saw the decisive influence of Wilhelm Wagenfeld and the adoption of an aesthetic based on simplicity, functionality, and the “Gute Form.” The present bottle holder fits into this evolution, at a time when WMF developed plainer daily objects better suited to contemporary use.

Dimensions:
- Length: 27.3 centimeters,
- Height: 17.2 centimeters,
- Width: 9.7 centimeters,
- Weight: 250 grams.

The bottle holder will be carefully packed and shipped quickly in a secure manner. In-store pickup and combined shipping are available. Photos are part of the description.
