Large botryoidal Chrysocolla specimen with probable Heterogenite from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This impressive 2.09 kg cabinet specimen displays extensive botryoidal and reniform formations across most of its front surface. The Chrysocolla shows attractive blue-green to deep turquoise coloration, with numerous glossy areas contrasting strongly with the darker botryoidal material, identified as probable Heterogenite.

The specimen has a highly three-dimensional surface with rounded aggregates of different sizes and an attractive combination of glossy and finely textured areas. Small areas of brighter green and deep blue mineralization add further colour variation.

The reverse shows the natural host matrix and is also shown in the photographs.

The specimen comes from the old Bent Hansen Mineral Collection in Denmark. No original locality label is preserved. The collection was subsequently reviewed by a mineral dealer, who identified this specimen as Chrysocolla with probable Heterogenite from Congo. The exact mine is unknown.
