Antique desktop chapel niche in ebonized wood, dating to 1910–1920, in chinoiserie style, with dimensions 42 cm high, 27 cm wide, 15 cm deep, in good used condition.

An antique table-top niche or chapel, with an open-arched structure, made of ebony-stained wood and richly decorated in the chinoiserie taste so fashionable in France and Spain during the Second Empire (Napoleon III). It is formed by two curved columns supporting an upper lintel, atop a molded base with decorative protrusions at the ends, leaving a central opening intended to house a standing religious statue or figure.
The decoration combines vegetal and floral motifs painted in gold — acanthus leaves, volutes, stylized flowers — with delicate mother-of-pearl inlays, evoking the effect of oriental lacquer. At the base of the columns there are cartouches with pseudo-oriental decoration, reinforcing the chinoiserie character of the piece.
