A exceptionally stylish and distinctive vintage wall coat rack, fully made in warm, glossy brass. The clean geometric design, long lines, and combination of different hook types give this piece a luxurious Mid-Century Modern / Hollywood Regency appearance.

The coat rack has a long rectangular brass base with four large double hooks. The long, diagonally rising arms are ideal for coats and jackets, while the smaller lower hooks are suitable for bags, scarves, and other accessories. Additionally, on the front there are three separate round brass knobs. This gives the rack no fewer than 11 practical hanging points.

What stands out most is the design. The four long hooks together form a powerful rhythmic line, while the flat brass panels and cylindrical knobs give the piece an architectural feel. No superfluous embellishments, but material, geometry, and functionality as defining elements of the design.

This type of brass wall coat racks closely aligns with European interior design from the 1980s, when polished brass was widely used. Similar French and Italian coat racks from this period are nowadays offered under both Mid-Century Modern and Hollywood Regency. A comparable French brass wall model from the 1980s is described, for example, as a sleek, minimalist design, while Italian examples from the same period are valued for their combination of geometric lines and brass details.

The backside features two metal mounting points, allowing the coat rack to be securely attached to the wall.

Condition

The coat rack is in used vintage condition. The brass shows clear signs of use and age, including scratches, local discoloration, tarnish, and surface wear. Signs of use are also visible on the top/rear. This is clearly shown in the photos.

The coat rack has intentionally not been fully polished, so the buyer can decide whether to preserve the existing vintage look or have the brass re-polished to a high gloss.
