Otodus megalodon tooth specimen, 6 cm, from Bone Valley, Florida, USA; Quaternary, Pleistocene period; natural, unrestored and authentic.
Description from the seller
This magnificent Otodus megalodon tooth comes from the legendary Bone Valley fossil region in Florida, USA, a locality renowned worldwide for its fossil shark teeth. At 6 cm in length, this is a notably large specimen for Bone Valley. Large, well-formed Megalodon teeth from this region are considerably less common than the smaller teeth typically found there.
What truly makes this tooth special is its completely beige coloration. Both crown and root display a soft, natural beige hue, giving the specimen a very uniform and elegant appearance. This monochrome color is relatively rare among Bone Valley Megalodon teeth and gives the tooth an appearance that markedly deviates from the more well-known dark gray, brown, or blueish specimens from this locality.
The crown has a beautiful broad triangular shape and shows clear natural growth lines running from the base toward the tip. Along both cutting edges, the characteristic fine serrations are clearly present. The transition between crown and root is also nicely visible, with a distinct bourlette that further emphasizes the tooth's natural anatomy.
Another important aspect of this specimen is its authenticity. This tooth is completely natural and unrestored. There are no reconstructed parts or added restorations; the tooth is offered as it naturally originates from the fossil-containing material. The visible natural lines and mineralization contribute to the character and authenticity of the fossil.
With its 6 cm size, exceptional fully beige color, and natural, unrestored state, this is a very attractive Bone Valley specimen. A special addition to any collection and a beautiful piece of history of one of the most impressive predators that ever inhabited the oceans.
