Mid-Century Office Desk with Double Drawer Bank - Art Deco / 1940s-50s
Description:
Up for auction is a fascinating vintage double-drawer office desk dating to the mid-20th century, around the 1940s or 1950s. This piece embodies the functional yet elegant aesthetic of Mid-Century Modern style, with influences of late Art Deco.
The desk is made of veneered wood with a warm medium-tone finish and a sturdy structure. It consists of two wide side drawers supporting a clean rectangular top. The desk’s “floating” top design creates useful open compartments above the drawers for storing documents or frequently used items.
Key Features:
Dual-Drawer Design: Maximum functionality with six total drawers.
Drawers: Each side drawer has three drawers. The left and right drawers show traditional wooden construction. The right-side drawers are lockable and come with the original key.
Handles: Beautiful original handles in durable phenolic resin or cream-colored plastic with metal supports, typical of the era.
Finish: Veneered wood body with black contrasting base feet for a modern, clean look.
Open Compartments: Practical open spaces between the top and the drawers.
