Description from the seller
Quadral Wotan Phonologue Mk I Pair — Hannover 1981-83 — ribbon Technics, original grills, matching pair
manufactured in Hannover (Germany) between 1981 and 1983. Belong to the first generation of the Phonologue series, Quadral's high-end line in the 80s and one of the most sought-after pieces of German vintage hi-fi.
Matching pair, serial number 280891. Original rear labels intact.
Condition
Very good condition, with only the minimal wear typical of age (see real photos).
No restoration needed: ready to connect and listen.
• Original drivers in excellent condition: woofer, midrange and Technics ribbon tweeter (ribbon/magnetostrictive), dust-free, with no tears or clear signs of aging.
• Original new grills. In boxes over 40 years old this is an unusual and highly valued detail.
• Wood cabinets with lively grain, finish in black oak / smoked oak, with no major dents or significant wear.
• Original terminals and bass ports functioning correctly.
Specifications
• Type: 3-way, O.L.C.D. principle (bass-reflex / Quadral transmission line)
• Power: 150 W nominal / 200 W music power
• Response: 30 Hz – 50,000 Hz
• Impedance: 8 Ω
• Drivers: woofer 260 mm (10") + midrange 120 mm (~4.7–5”) + Technics ribbon tweeter
• Dimensions: 700 × 420 × 350 mm (H × W × D)
• Weight: 28 kg per cabinet
Sound
The character of these Wotan has kept them beloved by enthusiasts: very fine and open highs thanks to the Technics ribbon, natural mids and powerful, controlled lows with body. They are not “neutral catalog” boxes; they have personality, scale, and that characteristic German ethos from the early 80s that is precisely sought after in this series.
Ideal for anyone wanting a serious vintage system, not just a decorative piece.
Photos
All real. Includes:
• front with and without grill
• sides and wood grain
• rear with ports and labels
• close-ups of woofer, midrange and ribbon
• terminals and construction details
Shipping / Collection
Each speaker weighs 28 kg. They would ship in 2 separate parcels.
I strongly recommend pickup in person: reduces cost, transport risk, and potential claims.
If shipped, the buyer assumes transport responsibility and packaging will be done with maximum care, but the weight and size make pickup the most sensible option.
Ready to enjoy. Matching pair, new grills and a condition hardly repeatable in these Phonologue Mk I."
