Unknown artist - Snuff box - Enamel

A circular snuff box made in Imperial Russia at the turn of the 20th century, circa 1896 to 1908, in what the seller describes as 84 zolotnik silver, though no independent assay has been conducted to confirm purity. The exterior is decorated with guilloché enamel in a repeating floral pattern, a technique characteristic of the Russian silver workshops of the late Imperial period. The base bears a maker's signature and the side of the lid carries an export stamp, consistent with pieces produced for the late Imperial export trade; the maker behind the signature has not been positively identified. The piece measures 5 cm in diameter and weighs 48.7 g.

Condition is Good. There are enamel defects, comprising chipping or losses, along the lower perimeter of the box body; buyers should examine the photographs carefully and assess the extent of this damage before bidding. Apart from this enamel damage, the silver body appears intact and the box opens and closes as intended. No repairs or restorations have been noted.
