Hand-knotted in China with wool on a cotton foundation, dating from the early 1900s.
Chinese carpets are characterized by excellent wool. The decorations faithfully echo the motifs of Chinese tradition: flowers, Buddhist symbols. The wool quality is excellent.
The previous owner told me he had washed the rug and carried out a moth treatment, as moths had damaged it in some small areas.
As can be seen in the photos, the rug shows wear in the central area.
Surely it will appeal to lovers of the 'used' style and of imperfections.
