Description from the seller
This artwork by Jan Tormi is an abstract and colorful piece in which several shapes seem to move over one another. The artist mainly uses blue, green, red, yellow, black and white. Some shapes evoke people, animals or objects, but they are not realistically developed. Therefore anyone can recognize something different in it. The dark lines and bright color fields create strong contrasts and make the image lively and playful. At first glance the composition seems chaotic, but the colors and shapes nevertheless provide coherence and balance.
Jan Tormi (1951) was born in Lennep, Germany. His life as a self-taught artist began in 1969 in Hamburg. In the 1970s Tormi travels through Europe and the Far East. This was an important period for him of clarifying historical facts that leave their traces on his paintings which arise from this. In the early eighties Tormi acquired the technique of etching and other artistic print techniques.
Dimensions: 29 x 23 cm
Dimensions with frame: 62 x 52 cm
