Description from the seller
I am offering a Yashica Pentamatic here in good and perfectly working condition.
All shutter speeds from B, X and 1 second up to 1/1000 second operate very smoothly by ear. The film counter also works well and can be easily-reset to zero by turning it "0".
ASA settings can be adjusted from 10 to 400.
At the rear, above the film door on the left, there is a three-position switch. Under normal use it should be in the "A" position. The "R" setting is for rewinding the film, and the "O" setting is to pop the rewind crank up. After that, pull the lever further up and the film door opens.
In appearance, the camera is not exactly in its prime anymore. On the top plate there are still a few spots showing chrome wear. Is this serious? No, not at all. But it remains a nice and special camera because this was Yashica’s very first SLR (single-lens reflex) camera with interchangeable Yashinon lenses that they built from 1960 to 1964.
Then I come to the included Yashinon f1.8/5.5 cm lens. This lens has the Pentamatic bayonet and is therefore not suitable for use with Yashica cameras that have the Yashica/Contax bayonet. So only for the Pentamatic and Yashica J-series cameras.
The aperture works very well and can be set from f1.8 to f16. When the lens is mounted on the camera and, for example, the lens is set to f16, then when cocking the shutter the diaphragm opens fully as it should and then closes back to the set value as soon as the shutter is pressed.
However, the included lens does not work perfectly. The focusing is blocked. It cannot be focused with this lens. This is something that should be checked, unless this is not an issue for a collector who wants to place this set in the display vitrine.
I suspect that the old lubricants on the focus helicoid have hardened and therefore cannot be focused anymore.
In other words: I am offering the camera as working with a lens that could/should be repaired (if desired).
Also take a look at my other listings.
The body camera with lens will be carefully packed and shipped with Track & Trace number and insurance.
NOTA:
I always ship my goods with Track & Trace number and insurance to prevent possible damage or theft.
I ship my goods via "Smart Shipping" of Catawiki. This was created by Catawiki a few years ago to obtain better shipping rates with various carriers. Catawiki handles everything. I only receive the shipping label digitally. I personally have no say anymore in the shipping costs.
If you cannot agree to this, please do not place bids.
Thanks in advance."
