Dish - Majolica - Parata, late 19th century

Impressive and scenographic parade plate of large size (Ø 47 cm) made in tin-glazed earthenware and entirely hand-painted with an extraordinary level of detail. In the center, within a circular reserve, there is a rich Renaissance-style marine mythological scene, where figures of naiads, tritons and zephyrs interact among the waves and sea monsters. The outer rim is embellished with a cobalt blue background on which dense grotesques, mascarons, winged creatures and vegetal elements in gold and green monochrome intertwine. On the back, glazed white with antique crackling, there is brush-numbering ("11400") and the original mounting system for wall hanging.\n\nConditions: Very good vintage condition; minor chips/missing glaze on the peripheral edge consistent with age. No evident restoration or through crack. Rear metal hanging hook present.
