McIntosh - CR12 - MC7108 - WK-9 (RC) Hi-fi set - Multiple models

The CR12 features multiple line and video inputs, separate zone control, and extensive control options. The MC7108 delivers 8 × 40 watts at 4 ohms or 8 × 25 watts at 8 ohms and can be bridged per channel pair up to 100 watts if desired.

The preamplifier (CR12) can be controlled with the WK-9, which is supplied in NOS condition. It is a multi-channel A/V Control Center consisting of four fully independent zones, made up of four separate McIntosh A/V preamplifiers in a single enclosure. The McIntosh CR12 supports a one-cable connection to the McIntosh MC7108 8-channel power amplifier or to a main preamplifier (for example to integrate a CR12 multi-zone system with an MX132-based home cinema system). Additionally, it is possible to link up to six CR12 units with a single cable, for a total of 24 fully independent listening zones.

Per zone you can choose from eight shared sources (four audio and four audio/video sources), supplemented by one additional local private A/V source that is available only for that specific zone.

Each zone offers a choice between balanced or unbalanced outputs, separate tone controls, LED status indicators, programmable wake-up settings, and an adjustable output level, including a maximum volume.

Per zone, a maximum of four control panels (keypads) or infrared sensors can be connected. In addition, the CR12 provides the ability to remotely control lighting, projection screens and curtains, making it well suited for integrated multi-room and home automation systems (an MHC1 accessory is required for this, NOT INCLUDED).

The power amplifier, MC7108, delivers 8 × 40 watts RMS into 4 ohms when all eight channels are used simultaneously. In bridge mode the output power is 100 watts RMS into 4 ohms per channel pair. It is suitable for speakers with an impedance of 4 or 8 ohms and has a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a variation of only +0 / -0.25 dB. The total harmonic distortion (THD) is up to 0.005%, while the signal-to-noise ratio is 92 dB (A-weighted). With a damping factor of 200 at 8 ohms and 100 at 4 ohms, the amplifier offers excellent control over the speakers. Thanks to the built-in Power Guard technology, clipping is prevented and distortion and speaker loading are kept to a minimum even at high volumes.

The set has been professionally refurbished. Documentation of the work performed is available and will be provided with the sale. Both devices function properly and are scratch-free,

Pickup is preferred due to the value and weight of the set. Shipping is however possible. All components are individually protected with multiple layers of bubble wrap, foam and sturdy cardboard, after which they are sent in a double package to prevent transport damage. Shipping is fully insured and professionally packaged. Pickup and listening is possible in Alkmaar, the Netherlands (by appointment).
