Contents: Two scissors in the case are missing; all blades are complete, of which two are marked with “W. Walb, nachf.” Probably replaced at some point but of high quality from the same period, Wilhelm Walb Nachfolger, was a well-known German maker of high-quality medical and surgical instruments from Heidelberg.
For the rest there are three forceps and three kinds of hooks on a metal cord, and a needle-like thing.

The family business was based from 1880 for a very long period in the monumental building at Breestraat 12 in Leiden. Van Deene produced high-quality precision instruments for, among others, the nearby Leiden hospitals and university laboratories.
